The built-in compass uses the earth’s magnetic field to calculate thedeviation from magnetic north. As with every compass, if you put apiece of metal nearby, it gets deviated. Current status of this app.This is far from finished, this is the current beta of this app. Allgauges are fully functional. Clicking sound and vibration working too.You may turn them on/off using the corresponding buttons on the left.To exit the app, use the lower right button. This will ONLY work on theHTC HD2.
The camera button has a new meaning as of v0.2.0.0:
It enables a test mode, where sensor readings are simulated. Use the sliders to advance the main/aux gauges

todo’s we’re aware of:
- artwork needs final polishing
- sliders do slide but have no effect whatsoever, temporarily used for debugging
- screenshot (camera) button switches debugging mode (this will change in a final release)
- detection algorithm still crappy
- sound and vibration status not saved on exit

Testing
Place your device flat on a surface. After starting the app, the gaugeshould show zero. If it doesnt, take your device and write a couple of“eights” in the air (this is to get rid of magnetism which might getstuck in the sensors).
Then use a pair of scissor or something the like and move it slowly tothe right side of your device. At a distance of approx. 5 cm. the gaugeshould start to move. Take your device and move it with its right sidenear metals, and see if the gauge shows values.

HD2 SoftReset



HD2SoftReset is a very simple windows mobile software which soft resetsthe device. Inspired on and intended to fit the HTC HD2 which does nothave the traditional softreset button easily reachable (you need toremove the back cover lid for it) and still you need to have somethinglike a stylus to press it, which HD2 neither has. This software willallow you to softreset with just a tap. Soft reset is mostly requiredafter installing applications, or after changing any registry or deviceconfiguration. Soft reset is also recommended to be performedperiodically because it will ‘clean’ the devices RAM to ensure thephone operates in the optimal way. When the operating system or anyapplication causes the device to become laggy or slow, then it is alsoa sign that a soft reset should be done.

SRS WOW HD 1.5.1.0 for HTC HD2



If you want to tweak the HTC HD2 and enable the best possible audiooutput from the device you might want to take a look at SRS WOW HD. Theapp was taken from the Omnia and posted on xda-dev by Sector` fromxda-developers. Kudos to WMPU for the find who says the app addscontrol over 3DEffect, Boosts Sound, Bass, Treble, Presets and also asignificant volume boost.

he built-in compass uses the earth’s magnetic field to calculate thedeviation from magnetic north. As with every compass, if you put apiece of metal nearby, it gets deviated. That is what is use here todetect metal.

Current status of this app:
This is pre-alpha 0.0.0.1. Sure it needs improvement in many ways.
The algorithm to detect abnormal deviation (hence metal detection) isfar from perfect. This is due to the fact that i dont know exactly howto interpret the values coming back from compass API.
A few additional gauges would be nice, which might lead to improvement of the algorithm
A sensitivity slider would come in handy too.
